Fun with crepes

So, my kids of course asked the obvious question when we told them we wanted to learn French as a family, “Why?” We told them France has a very refined culture. It would be fun to visit there. We are trying to show them little glimpses of French culture the best way we can in order to illustrate the appeal.

Last night we watched the Disney film “Ratatouille” and then tonight we made crepes. Hey, it’s tough to break down the appeal of a place on the other side of the planet to kids! You have to use things they relate to.

The movie was a big hit. And the crepes were an even bigger hit. We let the kids put in their own fillings, from ham and cheese to jams to sugar and honey. They ate every one. The kids were asking me to make them more for breakfast tomorrow.
