The constant hustle

September 25, 2013

You know, it’s funny: A lot of disparate industries have much in common. Being an attorney is, in it’s own way, a form of performance art. Yet most of the time you are just trying to hustle to pay the bills and stay in business. It turns out the independent music business is much the same. A lot of time is spent on paying the bills and self promotion, activities that really have nothing to do with the actual making of beautiful music. I guess it is basically the same everywhere.

  1. Every form of business truly does have the same basic foundation. To promote itself, and many times yes that includes a form of art or way to catch the potential clients attention.

Interesting. I can see the similarities in trying to promote business crosses many different job areas. Self promotion must get very tiresome and expensive, although necessary for survival it would seem. I am sympathetic with this ongoing challenge.
