Milestones: Laila says a sentence

March 30, 2013

Cyrus was trying to crush Bella with the baby gate. (That’s a perfectly normal moment around here, by the way.) I yelled, “No, Cyrus!” Laila looked at her brother, got out her waggling finger of disapproval, and yelled, “No! Don’t, Cyrus!” It was impressive. She really draws out the “o” sound in both “no” and “don’t” for maximum effect.

The kids are all proto-talking now. They are able to express themselves in very basic terms. When I am playing ball with them, you hear lots of “dad-da”, “ball”, and “share”, for instance. Also, I notice that “share” can be used for offensive and defensive use: That is, “share” can be used to reassure someone that you are not taking the toy away, you just want to look at it, but also the babies use it to indicate, “I will let you see the toy, but don’t run away with it.”

Good for Bella. She is coming right along and learning to hold her own. I am so pleased to see that. Please give her a hug for me. (Cyrus too).
    Love, Mom
