So, how is the music thing going with the babies?

November 17, 2012

My triplets just love music. They love watching music videos on Daddy’s lap. They love listening to people play music. And they are surprisingly frequently incorporating music into their play. They have a tradition now of singing together at breakfast time. Usually Laila will start by hitting a note and holding it, and the other babies will sing that note as well and they will hold it together, singing in harmony. They do this over and over again. They also use a baby piano and baby xylophone to play melodies. Cyrus and Laila are especially fond of playing the various percussion instruments and shakers that we have in my bedroom. If there is music going, either on the computer on being played live, they will try to keep time with the percussion instruments. I saw Bella actually keeping a beat going in time to the music today with her hand. That’s very impressive, considering that she is only fourteen months old.

The most important musical education babies can have is to hear music as part of their everyday life. I am so proud of you for providing these experiences at such a young age. Keep up the good work!

  3. They amaze me with really how naturally talented and intelligent they all really are. And u don’t even have to take bias moms word for it, last doc visit the doc said the same thing. That they are very advanced for where they should be. And music only comes natural to some, not all babies or even people are musically inclined. We got some smart little ones growing.

  4. Yes I noticed too how musically perceptive the babies were 😘😘😘that’s awesome!!
