It’s interesting how broad a category “jazz” is. It is no more descriptive of a particular type of music than the word “Olympics” describes a particular sport.
Some jazz is very experimental and unstructured. Some sounds like gospel, some like bluegrass, some like Dixieland. Some bands sing music from the earliest plantation times. Some is very reliant on vocals, others are totally instrumental. Even the time periods are vast, from centuries ago to the most modern electronic sounding stuff.
I am watching a band dressed in traditional African clothing play drums and sing. It’s a world away from Big Band.

It looks as if you had a good time. I am sure Tyler was inspired to work on his cello.

  3. Great time!! It’s great to introduce the kids to all different kinds of music. They don’t hear make jazz hanging out with their friends.
