Mostly, there is no explanation for suffering that is not of our own making in my opinion. However, it does teach us empathy for others who are hurting. We always see kindness and helpfulness offered by angels in our path when we need them most. Suffering we cause ourselves serves a purpose. We learn humility and to forgive ourselves (this is often the hardest part). None of us gets through life without suffering. During the darkest hours prayer helps as does keeping busy helping others as much as we can.
    Love, Mom
